A number you can defend
Anyone can fit a model that outputs a price. The hard part is a valuation you can explain to a lender, a seller, or a regulator—and still trust next quarter.
What drives a good model
- Location: suburb, postcode, proximity to amenities.
- Property attributes: size, beds, baths, land, condition.
- Market context: recent comparable sales and trend.
- Honest uncertainty: a range, not just a point estimate.
Explainable by design
We favour models whose drivers can be inspected, so a valuation comes with the "why." A black box that can't justify itself doesn't belong in a high-stakes decision.
